Born and raised in Southern California, Ryan enjoys surfing, snow skiing, and of course loves to hunt and fish. But when not enjoying these things, he is hard at work as the first baseman for Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants. He has spent time with both the Atlanta Braves—where he won a World Series ring—and San Diego Padres. One of the most fondest memories however was while growing up, pitching in his back yard, his mother caught for him. For Ryan, his mother has always been his biggest role model and fan. While in San Diego, he served as the club’s spokesperson for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. This involvemenet has now lead to his Blue Ryno Foundation, which provides support to the families of terminally ill children.
