Lance Nichols

Big Game Guide
Piney Valley Ranch

Hi, my name is Lance Nichols; I am a big game hunting guide and an avid outdoor enthusiast.  I grew up hunting and fishing in a small town in Idaho spending every chance I could in the outdoors.  After I graduated high school I went straight to a guide and packing school in Phillipsburg, Montana to fulfill my longtime dream of working in the wild outdoors.  When I finished the school, I went to work for an outfitter in Idaho.  The outfit ran elk and deer hunts deep in the Frank Church Wilderness area, which is the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 (2.5 million acres).  I started out as a packer and eventually worked my up to being a guide.  It was very remote and absolutely gorgeous country.  After a few years of working in Idaho I wanted to see new country.  I got a job offer in central Colorado, so I headed out there.  I now work on a 30,000-acre ranch, which offers both public and private land hunts for elk and mule deer.  When I am not guiding or hunting for myself, one of my favorite hobbies is shed hunting.  I thank God for the majestic animals and beautiful country that he has made for us.  I love what I do, and do what I love.
