My name is David Lucero. I was born and raised in Leadville, Colorado. When I was born, I had a gentlman bring me a bow as a gift, and I've been shooting ever since. I grew up following my dad around the woods chasing elk. Mostly I was jumping off logs, playing in every stream that we came across, and throwing pinecones at squirrels and camp robbers; but, I learned more from him than I could ever imagine. He taught me how to call, how to be quiet on the "corn-flake" leaves, and how to move "like the hands of a clock" in the woods.

I am now working on a 30,000 acre ranch in central Colorado. I get to guide elk and deer hunters for almost 5 full months out of the year. I guide everything from archery elk hunts to middle-of-the-rut trophy buck hunts to late season cow elk hunts. When I am not hunting, I am shed hunting, scouting for animals, or just cruising around looking and learning new country. I feel very fortunate to be able to do this full-time.

I have taken elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope, hogs, antelope, mountain lions, and numerous small game mammals and game birds with both my recurve and my compound bow. I have also taken several big game animals with a rifle. I also enjoy chasing the few migratory and game birds that we have here with one one of my best friends in the entire world, Daisy.

Hunting is not only my passion, it is my life.
