Grand National Hello, my name is Billy Yargus. Presently, I live in Ewing, Missouri. I was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri. My love for Christ and hunting was instilled in me as a small boy. Growing up in a small river town like Hannibal, I found that the most enjoyable way to pass the time was riding horses, motorcycles, hunting or just being outdoors. I received Christ as my Savior when I was 10 years old in the church where my parents raised me. As I grew older I began to drift away from the Lord and get involved in the things of the world. I became more heavily involved with horses and hunting as I entered my teen years and on in to my early twenties. These two things were the main focus of my life and my family and relationship with the Lord suffered because of this. After several years of spending all my time hunting or racing horses, I began to wake up to the problems within my family. I finally realized these problems could not be solved without Jesus Christ being in complete control of my life. So, that year in 1991, I rededicated my life back to the Lord. Five years later, in 1996, I began competing in Turkey Calling contests. I decided that I would not let this get in my way of serving the Lord or my family life. With the help of a friend, Gene Guy, I joined the Quaker Boy Game Calls call team. Several months later, at another calling competition, I became acquainted with Chris Parrish, owner of Cannon Country Game Calls. This ultimately led to my decision to make a change, and start calling for Cannon Country. My job with Cannon Country as the Elite Pro Staffer consisted of calling on the call team, hunting, running a camera when needed, sales, and conduct speaking engagements at various seminars. After a lot of prayer and discussion with Mike Pentecost, I left Cannon Country Game Calls in 2004 and joined the WoodHaven Custom Calls Sting Team. Little did I know that entering a turkey calling contest would one day lead me to a hunting related ministry. I wish I could tell you that everything in my life turned out great after I gave control of my life to Jesus Christ, but that is not the case. When my marriage ended in 1999, He proved to be a Faithful Friend and Refuge of Strength. Through that experience and up unto the present the Lord continues to work and move in and through my life. Today I am blessed to have a wonderful wife, Nanette, three daughters, Stephanie, Ashley, Katie, and two step-sons Justin and Kamron who also enjoy hunting with me. They are such a blessing to my life, and I am proud to be their father. I love the Lord and it is my prayer that through my own battles with this world, I may help others win theirs. I believe that the Lord has opened a window of opportunity for me to do this very thing through my love for hunting, and my desire to glorify His name. My accomplishments include:
